Happy St. Patty's Day, Statement Makers! So, what do you know about St. Patty's Day, Feast of St. Patrick, LÁ Fhéile Pádraig or St. Patrick's Day? Well, all of these names are, mean, represent the same - St. Patty's day. On March 17th of each year, people all over the US celebrate St. Patty's Day. Some Catholics may chose to celebrate on a different date if the 17th falls during Holy Week.
Almost everywhere you turn, you can catch a glimpse of various hues of green from mint, to hunter, or that of a 4-leaf clover which I've dubbed "Leprechaun green" as people celebrate the Irish tradition. According to that same tradition, if you wear green on St. Patty's Day, you are invisible to leprechauns; so make sure you are wearing your green today. You don't want to come up on a Leprechaun's radar, because they do love to pinch!
A little back story on the real history of good ole St. Patrick
St. Patty's Day is a religious celebration held in commemoration of the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. St. Patrick was said to be a saint or missionary who is believed to have died on March 17th, somewhere around the year 463. Because of his good works, In 1588 Franciscan scholar, Luke Wadding ensured that he would forever be celebrated. Wadding is responsible for dubbing March 17, St. Patrick's Day. The St. Patty's Day symbol is the shamrock which is green in color and represents the Holy Trinity according to the Irish. As luck would have it, there's also green in the Irish flag.
A Finishing touch to my St. Patty's Day Look: Jimmy Choo Anuk Pumps
In commemoration of St. Patty's Day, I decided to wear all green, absolutely not taking the chance of getting pinched by a Leprechaun because the first thing I'm gonna ask him is "Oh, you must know how to fight?" because I will fight - even a sneaky a$$ little green guy (serious face).
About the Look:
Dress: Calvin Klein
Shoes: Jimmy Choo "Anuk" Pumps
